چکیده

2014 A laser pulse method for diffusivity determination is analysed. The method which permits the measurement of the laser pulse energy distribution as well as its shape is developed. This method can be easily implanted into laser pulse diffusivity set-up and it allows to check periodically the pulse characteristics that is of primary importance for the accuracy of the diffusivity measurements. The corrections to the classical model of Parker et al. [1] due to the heat losses and finite pulse duration are then discussed The improvement of the accuracy of the diffusivity measurement through the use of a digitalized data acquisition system (DDAS) is proposed. The smoothing technique of the expérimental, transient thermal signal is developed on the basis of a digitalized Fourier transform. Finally the diffusivity set-up is presented and some results for the standard materials are shown. Tome 20 No 1 JANVIER 1985 Revue Phys. Appl. 20 (1985) -11 JANVIER 1985, PAGE 1

Heat Transfer in Semitransparent Medium Caused by Laser Pulse

In this paper, the combination of conduction with radiation into a semitransparent medium which includes absorption, emission and scattering has been investigated. In order to Study the conduction in medium, the Non-Fourier heat conduction has been applied. In this model there is a time delay between heat flux and temperature gradient. Also, in contrast with Fourier heat conduction, the speed o...

Transient thermoelastic analysis of FGM rotating thick cylindrical pressure vessels under arbitrary boundary and initial conditions

Assuming arbitrary boundary and initial conditions, a transient thermo-elastic analysis of a rotating thick cylindrical pressure vessel made of functionally graded material (FGM) subjected to axisymmetric mechanical and transient thermal loads is presented. Time-dependent thermal and mechanical boundary conditions are assumed to act on the boundaries of the vessel. Material properties of the ve...

Nonlocal thermoelastic semi-infinite medium with variable thermal conductivity due to a laser short-pulse

In this article, the thermoelastic interactions in an isotropic and homogeneous semi-infinite medium with variable thermal conductivity caused by an ultra-short pulsed laser heating based on the linear nonlocal theory of elasticity has been considered. We consider that the thermal conductivity of the material is dependent on the temperature. The surface of the surrounding plane of the medium is...

A Parameter Estimation Procedure in Thermal Diffusivity Measurements Using the Laser Flash Method

Paper presents the application of Gauss estimation procedure in measuring thermal diffusivity of single materials using the laser pulse method. Unlike procedures, based on that originally established by Parker et al., where thermal diffusivity is derived using one or more characteristic points of experimental signal, this one belongs to socalled inverse technique, which makes use of complete me...
